Glen Beck: Che Guevara - 40 Years Later
During this video clip, Glen Beck talks about how Che Guevara is the anti-hero. Some key points that Beck made was that he helped Castro rise to power, and he also oversaw prison executions. Over 500 people would die in one night. Che started labor camps and he was the "king of communism" and is now considered the "ultimate capitalist". Apparently his image is everywhere. Personally, I do not know anything about Che Guevara, but now having watched this video clipped I am assuming that he wasn't the man people made him out to be, and he did a lot of bad things during his time. "Guevara remains a controversial and significant historical figure." I also thought Beck’s tone of voice was tad annoying, but then again, he caught my attention because he seemed that he knew what he was talking about, and he range of voice tones kept my attention.
I completely agree with how you said Beck was annoying but he didn't catch my attention. I actually thought he was too opinionated and wanted everyone to follow what he has to say.
ReplyDeleteChe's image as a Christ-like revolutionary figure seems to be based on lies. It's amazing that posters like the one on your post exist!
ReplyDeleteI think it would be interesting to see what his own people have to say about him. He is this terrible excutioner, but generally to rise to power you need followers. What do the people of Cuba have to say about Che? Do they think he is a killer or a hero?
ReplyDeleteMaybe Beck is blowing this out of proportion. I mean you don't know who this guy is so does everyone? I think not.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Will, it would be interesting to see what his people would say. If he was behind things with communism, maybe they see him as a revolutionist. Some people could look up to him, even though he was a bad person. Or they could hate him and be outraged that we have tee shirts on his name.
