The only issue that I can think of so far that occurs in the book and in class discussions would be the fact that this family is on a roadtrip to the tip of the Northern United States, and in "Motorcycle Diaries" Che and Alberto were on a "road trip". And in both scenarios, there aer struggles for the people along the way. They have to find ways to make money, get food, and provide for themselves and other people.
